Fundraisers

These PTO programs are specifically focused on fundraising. All money goes toward helping our amazing teachers and making great experiences for our kids.

Tax Credit Donations

State law allows Arizonans to contribute up to $400 to public schools for extra curricular activities and then deduct that amount directly from their state income taxes through a tax credit. Contributions must be postmarked by December 31 of the year to which you want to apply your tax credit. Individuals and couples filing jointly may take advantage of this tax credit. A maximum of $200 can be deducted per individual tax return, or couples filing a joint return may deduct a maximum of $400. You must have a receipt from your school to submit with your taxes.

Your tax credit donation helps students attend extracurricular activities like athletics; art and music programs; character education; and field trips. These programs develop well-rounded students who in turn build strong communities.

Clicking here will take you to the Kyrene District Tax Credit webpage.

Please remember to select Waggoner Elementary when making your donation. Thank you!

Dive Into An Ocean of Books

Our Scholastic On-line Book Fair will begin May 17th and run for 2-weeks. Families, students, teachers and staff will be able to shop on-line at their convenience. Purchased items will be sent directly to them. This is a great opportunity to stock up on some summer reading.

If you would like to shop at the Scholastic On-line Book Fair, use this link beginning May 17th, 2021

https://www.scholastic.com/bf/ciwaggoner

Last day to shop is Sunday, May 30th

FREE SHIPPING is available on all book items totaling $25 and over. Items will be shipped directly to your house.

25% of Book Fair sales will come back to our school in the form of Scholastic dollars. These Scholastic dollars will be used to purchase books that will build and enrich the
school library, and the classroom libraries.

If you would like to donate to your child’s classroom, or the school library, you can purchase a Scholastic gift card which will be sent directly to them. After selecting the gift card option, you will then be able to write a short message and add any donation amount. You will then be prompted to input the teacher’s and/or librarian’s email address and it will be sent to them directly.

We all shop for groceries, sometimes two or three times a week. Now turn those shopping trip into easy cash for your school, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios®, Hamburger Helper® and Kleenex®, in almost every aisle of the store. All you need to do is clip and send them to your school’s Box Tops coordinator —- each one is worth 10¢ for your school.

Box Tops is making some changes, so right now there are two ways to participate. The classic way is to clip any Box Tops off products you buy at the store (see the Product List - Click here) and send them to school with your student.

The new Box Top program is digital. You will need to download the Box Top app from the iPhone App Store or Google Play store, which you can then use to scan your receipt. Waggoner will earn 10¢ for each product on your receipt that is participating in the Box Tops program. Receipt scan must be completed within 14 days of purchase. Eventually the Box Tops for Education program will be completely digital but for now they will continue to accept clipped Box Tops if they are not expired. Please keep sending them in!

Over 100 retailers give eBoxTops to your school when you shop online at the Marketplace.

Plus, you become an Online Power Earner and can earn Bonus Box Tops!

Wow!  Thank you Waggoner Wildcats!!! What an incredible Step It Up! fundraiser we had!!!  We earned $31,168 to support our Wildcat community!!!  We could not have done that without each one of you!!!  We had 77% participation, with 351 students creating an account and sending over 3,678 requests to support our school!!!

If you can believe it 9 students raised over $600, 2 students raised over $1,000!!!  The 3 classrooms with the highest percentage of participation will receive a bonus $20 Amazon gift card!  Prizes will be coming on the Day of Awesomeness!!!

Last year we were able to start a Science Closet and made HUGE improvements to our outdoor spaces with the money from this fundraiser and this year we will be able to buy book sets, grow our science closet and keep our community events alive!!!  Thank you again for all of your help in Investing in our Waggoner Wildcats!!!

To register for this year's fundraiser, click here to go to Step It Up! It takes about 10 minute and then away you go.

Download your Golden Ticket Packet here!

Monday, September 13th, is the kick off to our annual Step It UP! Fall Fundraisers; it is time to "Invest In Our Waggoner Wildcats!"  Make sure you have your contacts ready so that you can help your child complete their Golden Ticket on Monday night!  The Golden Ticket is due Tuesday morning, September 14.  Your child will show it to their classroom teacher and the Golden Ticket prizes will be delivered to the classroom that day!

Last year this fundraiser was a huge success and we were able to create a science closet that will be rolled out soon, a shade structure and tables to transform our outdoor spaces to name a few!

This year we are raising funds to Invest in Our Waggoner Wildcats and provide new classroom book sets, grow our science closet and keep our community events alive!

This single fundraiser supports the PTO for the whole year!  But we can't do any of this without your support!  Be on the lookout for an email on Monday with the Golden Tickets packet attached!

Waggoner PTO is a volunteer organization that provides financial and volunteer support for our teachers, staff and students.  With parent support the Waggoner PTO funded last year, workshops for teachers; start up funds for each classroom and grade level support funds; supplies for the health office; school wide Science Fair; Trunk or Treat; Turkey Trot; Student-showcase; Book Fair; Carnival and the Yearbook.  We raise those funds primarily with one annual fundraiser. This year we are working with Step it Up to provide and fun and exciting fitness event!
