These PTO programs are specifically focused on fundraising. All money goes toward helping our amazing teachers and making great experiences for our kids.

Tax Credit Donations

State law allows Arizonans to contribute up to $400 to public schools for extra curricular activities and then deduct that amount directly from their state income taxes through a tax credit. Contributions must be postmarked by December 31 of the year to which you want to apply your tax credit. Individuals and couples filing jointly may take advantage of this tax credit. A maximum of $200 can be deducted per individual tax return, or couples filing a joint return may deduct a maximum of $400. You must have a receipt from your school to submit with your taxes.

Your tax credit donation helps students attend extracurricular activities like athletics; art and music programs; character education; and field trips. These programs develop well-rounded students who in turn build strong communities.

Dive Into An Ocean of Books

Our Scholastic On-line Book Fair will begin May 17th and run for 2-weeks. Families, students, teachers and staff will be able to shop on-line at their convenience. Purchased items will be sent directly to them. This is a great opportunity to stock up on some summer reading.

FREE SHIPPING is available on all book items totaling $25 and over. Items will be shipped directly to your house.

25% of Book Fair sales will come back to our school in the form of Scholastic dollars. These Scholastic dollars will be used to purchase books that will build and enrich the
school library, and the classroom libraries.

If you would like to donate to your child’s classroom, or the school library, you can purchase a Scholastic gift card which will be sent directly to them. After selecting the gift card option, you will then be able to write a short message and add any donation amount. You will then be prompted to input the teacher’s and/or librarian’s email address and it will be sent to them directly.

School-wide Book Raffles

To kick off the Book Fair, On Monday May 17th, we will have a school-wide Book Raffle (all students and teachers entered). There will be a winner announced from each class and they will win a free book. All students and teachers in class that day (flex and in-person) will be entered into the raffle. There will be a 2nd school-wide Book Raffle on Thursday, May 27th. All students and teachers in school (in-person or flex) will be entered for a chance to win a free book. Flex students whose names are drawn can pick up their book in the Waggoner front office.

Book Cover Design Contest -- Back By Popular Demand

Back by popular demand, we will have another Book Cover Design Contest. The contest details will be announced Tuesday, May 18th. Please include a title and author (first name only), with your book cover submission. Also, remember to include your grade and teacher’s name.

Entries are due Monday May, 24th at 10:00pm.

We all shop for groceries, sometimes two or three times a week. Now turn those shopping trip into easy cash for your school, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios®, Hamburger Helper® and Kleenex®, in almost every aisle of the store. All you need to do is clip and send them to your school’s Box Tops coordinator —- each one is worth 10¢ for your school. 

Box Tops is making some changes, so right now there are two ways to participate. The classic way is to clip any Box Tops off products you buy at the store (see the Product List - Click here) and send them to school with your student. 

The new Box Top program is digital. You will need to download the Box Top app from the iPhone App Store or Google Play store, which you can then use to scan your receipt. Waggoner will earn 10¢ for each product on your receipt that is participating in the Box Tops program. Receipt scan must be completed within 14 days of purchase. Eventually the Box Tops for Education program will be completely digital but for now they will continue to accept clipped Box Tops if they are not expired. Please keep sending them in!

We are excited for our upcoming Virtual Carnival event happening April 26-30th. All of the activities, challenges, and games that we have planned, have been adapted to accommodate all of our in-person kids, as well as our flex distance learning kids. We are excited to share some of the details with you:

We will also be celebrating a week long Carnival Themed Spirit Week!

Carnival Special Zoom Events

Thursday 4/29, starting at 6:00pm via Zoom, with Mrs. Pope & Mrs. Weissberg.

At 6:00pm-6:20pm: Ms. Pope will host a live sketch drawing session where she will lead them in drawing a Carnival character or animal.

At 6:25pm-6:45pm: Ms. Weissberg will host a live singing and dancing activity with the kids: 

  • Lip Sync Battle (K & 1) (2 & 3) (4 & 5) 
  • Just Dance (all students)

All students will be invited to this event and the link will be sent out prior.

This Event Is For Everyone!

All students will have the opportunity to participate in the games, challenges, and activities whether they are in in-person school or at home flex learning. Also, all students will be entered into our daily prize drawings. Stay tuned for more details.

Our Annual Step It Up! Fundraiser “Invest In Our Wildcats Future!” is here! This year we will be having the same virtual fundraiser again, although it will look a little different than last year.  We will be getting an extra 10% of the funds to be able to host our own special event as soon as it is safe because the Day of Awesomeness was not available.   The Golden Ticket “assignment” will be Tuesday, February 16th and will be turned in Wednesday morning virtually in class!  Golden Ticket prizes will be available for pick up on Thursday, February 18th from 2:00-5:00p.m. in the car pick up/drop off lane at Waggoner.  If we miss you for that pick up, please don’t worry. We can distribute to in person students on March 16th and Flex students in our Q4 distribution. The fundraiser will run for 2 weeks until March the 2nd!  All prizes will be available for pick up after Spring Break!

This year we are raising funds to invest in our Waggoner Wildcats and improve our outdoor spaces, support and appreciate our teachers and create a science closet for each class to use! This single fundraiser supports the PTO for the whole year! But we can’t do any of this without your support!

Waggoner PTO is a volunteer organization that provides financial and volunteer support for our teachers, staff and students.  With parent support the Waggoner PTO funded last year, workshops for teachers; start up funds for each classroom and grade level support funds; supplies for the health office; school wide Science Fair; Trunk or Treat; Turkey Trot; Student-showcase; Book Fair; Carnival and the Yearbook.  We raise those funds primarily with one annual fundraiser. This year we are working with Step it Up to provide and fun and exciting fitness event!
